Emily Boddy

Emily Boddy is on the leadership council for Smartphone Free Childhood US, a grassroots organization of parents working together to shift cultural norms around smartphone + digital technology use during childhood and adolescence.  She is also a member of the MA Coalition for Phone-Free and Social Media-Free Schools, co-leads her local group, ReConnect Western Mass and is a trustee on the board for the non-profit Turning Life On. Emily’s dedication to this work stems from her belief in the importance of meaningful, face-to-face connections for children and families, fostering  independence and resilience in kids, and her desire to create healthier, more balanced relationships with digital technology.

Emily holds a degree in Public Policy from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She spent many years working in the judicial system and nonprofit sector, focusing on youth wellbeing and engagement. Beyond her advocacy efforts, Emily is committed to supporting strong, connected communities through her service as a Trustee on the board of her children’s Charter Public School, coaching girls’ youth soccer, and singing in a local choir.

A Vermonter at heart, Emily now lives in Northampton, MA with her husband, two children, part-time dog, and a steady stream of family and friends coming and going.
